But none of this matters to Putin and the gang he has kept around him. He seems to enjoy showing the world how disruptive he can be. He seems to gloat about how many innocent people, even children, he can kill and no one can stop him.

As long as he can sell oil, nothing else in Russia, even its people, have any meaning to him.
