Earth has all the conditions necessary to support life, and there has been life on Earth for a billion years. Earth is a harbor, but not a safe harbor. As you said, there have been extinctions and mass extinctions. 99% of everything that could be considered “life” on Earth, is no longer here. Conditions change, creatures get killed by other creatures, or they kill each other off. It’s not an easy existence for any of us.

We humans are supposed to be the most advanced and most sophisticated of species, but I wonder. You mentioned in another post that your life has not been lived in a consistent state of bliss. My friend’s puppy seems happier than most humans I know. How about octopi, or dolphins? They don’t answer surveys.
