Great list, very informative.
This is the one on the list that I will follow most closely. I have been watching directly how smart elementary school kids react very poorly to learning by videos and programmed learning, no matter how clever or engaging they videos attempt to be. A mentor is certainly helpful but and engaged teacher in an engaged class adds the emotional component that makes learning take hold and accelerate. Smiley faces, tokens and rainbows only go so far. A child learning in isolation with a machine, drifts off and knows the machine doesn’t care.
