How will this affect the voters? Will it change people’s mind if they realize that Trump’s distorted view of the virus was wrong, ridiculous and harmful? Will new people begin to feel that his judgement can’t be trusted? Or, will people feel sorry for him and vote him back in?

Or, most likely, his getting sick will be blamed on the Democrats, as they will find someone, perhaps a Muslim, in the crowd at one of his rallies who can be the target of a new conspiracy theory?

Nothing is too far-fetched to rule out.

Trump’s illness has shocked the world and he has again, taken up all of the news coverage. There is danger in this in that his other crimes are being pushed off the spotlight. The biggest of these is the voter suppression moves that the Republicans are taking all over the country in the name of protecting against “voter fraud.” Right now Texas and Pennsylvania are the most egregious. These are brazen moves that are attempts at undermining democracy. They must be exposed and opposed, no matter how healthy their candidate is.
