However, many of his more ardent, best-trained, and well-armed followers, have been arrested and charged with sedition. Many of them are angry that they were misled. Many have told many things to the DOJ about who gave them their mission and what they were supposed to accomplish.
Also, unlike January 6, when they had vote counting to disrupt, what will be their mission? Will they try to bust into the courtroom and free the prisoner? Then what? I’m sure that Trump would not mind if a few hundred of his most faithful get shot if they attempt any violence. I am not so sure that even his most fanatic followers are up for that. Trump cannot promise them that he can call off the National Guard, or that the police will be poorly equipped and undermanned.
An increasing amount of people, including some in Congress, are feeling that the old man is losing his luster. He has promised them several times that he is the chosen one. There have been too many revisions.
I wonder if the GOP is beginning to want their money back. DeSantis is waiting to pick up the pieces.
