I agree, but not as totally as you do. But I never expected much. This is still America.

Biden is leaning in the right direction. At least he recognizes that the climate is falling apart. At least he wants to be friends with democracies and attempt to regain some trust from the world. He wants to deal with immigration straight on. He will improve healthcare. And he will bring capable people back into the government. We will have some environmental protections. We will have a working CDC. We will believe our Intelligence people.

I think he should waste about three days to a week trying to get the Republicans to cooperate, then he should do his best to smash their party to bits. We will have a real Justice Department that will not allow armed gangs of Patriots to roam the streets. We will use all legal means to fight lies, disinformation, and violence. There will be a real push to make Black people safer, and to bring them into the economic mainstream. They put him in office; he better not forget that.

But it will be difficult to get many Trump voters to be able to determine what is true and what is a totally ridiculous lie. I fear that the level of racism, greed, and fear of change runs deep and wide, and has been for the entire existence of this nation. Biden will never win them over. He either has to make them very uncomfortable, or buy them out with benefits that they can’t refuse.
