I am an older, straight, white, male. When the declaration of pronouns began I was a bit confused. I found it difficult to determine when “they” meant one person, or more than one.

The more I learned about the various derivations of “they,” the easier it was for me to accept it.

Now, I feel that if a totally new set of pronouns was used, say, “tal, til, and tolly, it may have been less confusing. But when I brought this up I was told it was too late to revise things, and that “they” has meaning.

But, everyone is allowed their own perspective. Perhaps you could introduce yourself as Victoria.
