I mostly agree with your assessment of Dr. Fauci. He is done as admirable job of trying to explain to the country what happens during a pandemic and what can be done to keep people safe.

However, I feel that his extreme attempt of remain non-political has hurt the country. Too many times he has compromised his message to tip-toe around the President. Would the President fire him if he spoke out clearly and honestly. Probably. But that is what is necessary when we see how Trump has increased his tyrannical, and crazy control over this country.

President Trump is himself, as big a health risk to this country as the pandemic. He is a firehose of lies and misinformation. His ignorance, fear and lies are probably responsible for half of the deaths from the virus, and his mishandling of the testing, the timing of a shutdown and his fighting with Governors has crippled the economy he so desperately wanted to save.

Dr. Fauci should have resigned, and gone public with his fears about Trump and his handling of the pandemic. Dr. Fauci is one of the few people in America who people would believe. He is not “fake news.” But already, as you can see from the comments here, the right-wing media is working to discredit him.
