I think that “Senioritis” is not only important, it is necessary. It will happen no matter what you try to do. The last semester of high school is really the end of protective childhood. Whether the kid is going to college, work, or the military, life is going to be very different. The kids wonder if they are prepared for life. They know they don’t even know the what the challenges will be like. The is no way to test that out while they are still in high school. They also know that they will never have the social life they had in high school again. That may be a relief to many, but it also is a big loss. Friends are going in different directions. Who knows how long your close friends will be your case friends? It is very difficult to go out of one door into another. The best way to prepare for it is with your friends.
