If there was a time when the past of the Boomers was better it was the brief period from 1968 to 1980. During that time the ridiculous war in Vietnam ended, the wealth gap was shrinking considerably, the women’ movement, and the Voting Rights Act were in effect and were helping equalize the nation. The top executives made 30X what the lowest workers made, not 1000X. But there was an oil crisis, inflation, and the rich people wanted to get richer. Along came Reagan, and turned the country around. The rich got richer, and the more they got richer the more they wanted. They bought the Republican Party, and now the Supreme Court. They sold out everyone else.
