If you don't have a father, an uncle, a father's friend, or a frat brother who works for Goldman Sx, you probably won't get to work there, or for Google, or Exxon, except for a few tokens.

The re-segregation of schools happened in the 70s. It has stayed that way. White people in the South vote to pay public school teachers $35,000. Voters fund school, or don't when they won't raise taxes. Even now, many Republicans, including Betsy DeVos, were pushing for vouchers so kids could take public money and go to religious schools. A policy designed to further divide and segregage America.

There are now, finally, some corporate efforts to change things as a lot of people are putting a lot of pressure on. We will see over the next ten years how this works out.
