It’s not a bad thing to vote for your own self-interest. We all do it. Each of us has to survive as best we can. The difference is in realizing what is best for yourself short-term, or over the longer term. If you vote to destroy democracy, you will soon not be able to vote. If you vote for corruption, you will soon lose your savings. If you vote based on lies, the country will go over the cliff.

I think this, from Wikipedia, describes Trump;s “victory.”

A Pyrrhic victory (/ˈpɪrɪk/ ( listen) PIRR-ik) is a victory that inflicts such a devastating toll on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat. Winning a Pyrrhic victory takes a heavy toll that negates any true sense of achievement or damages long-term progress.
