Most Southern states repressed or totally eliminated Black voting from 1875 to 1965 until LBJ signed the Voting Rights Act. Improvements were made until 2012 when the Roberts Court decided that racial discrimination in the US had ended — I guess they didn’t see it around their office much. Since then the southern states have again been throwing people off the roles, and reducing the number of polling places in Black neighborhoods.

Then, for Biden, people like Stacey Abrams, and plenty of others, got voters registered, organized and voting. The Republicans realize that their polices of keeping all the money for the rich can’t win elections fairly, so they are going back to Jim Crow laws. The DOJ has filed suit against those laws in GA. We’ll see how that turns out.
