Of course you are correct, but that is because you are expressing a rational point of view, and supporting it with facts. Also, you are making the assumption that the current Republican Party cases one twit about democracy, ethics, fairness, and the health, welfare, and safety of 90% of the American population.

The current driving force of the Republican Party is the greed of their very rich supporters. They want to maintain the power to remain free of regulations and taxes. In order to do that they spend millions to attack any opposition. Trump himself is the biggest example of someone who uses nationalism, racism, and perverse religion in order to keep the country angry, frightened, and divided so that he can continue his selfish, corrupt practices.
