Right now all of these new technologies are pretty rapidly taking over the way people live. In China the government is using them to insure conformity and stifle dissent. Most of the Chinese citizens seem to accept this in a trade off for stability and prosperity.

In America, where most of the older, ruling class doesn’t even understand Facebook, and certainly not AI, the new technologies are being used for profit. Misinformation seems to spread faster than truth.

You’re and educator, what happening to teaching critical thinking?

What we are facing now is whether Americans have the will, the energy and the understanding to really create a free and just society, or will it just be all about the money, and how to distribute it unequally.
