Rittenhouse is a victim, although I don’t think the judge would let his attorney call him that. But two of the people he shot are dead. That isn’t a misdemeanor, it’s manslaughter. Yes, Rittenhouse shot people in self-defense, but those people were acting in self-defense. They saw a kid coming after them with an assault rife. If Rittenhouse came to help the police and give medical attention, why go out and illegally get a gun, and then bring it. He put himself in a dangerous situation and was an armed threat. What did he expect? Yes, he was brainwashed by right-wing nuts, but so are the “rioters” on the left.

Also, as you imply, if a Black kid did what Rittenhouse did he would be dead.
