Thanks for the response. I agree with you, but only partially. Since 2000, the parties have gone in very different ways. The Republicans decided that they no longer could win in an open election so they adopted the strategy of divisiveness, lying, and cheating.
The Dems, including me, fell asleep under Obama, figuring things were going in the right direction and maybe people were not that gullible. That was wrong. Still, the Dems get more votes, but the Republicans took over the small states and used gerrymandering to stifle any progressive legislation — all legislation really.
So, I ask you, if you are so upset, how much effort have you put in to push for the necessary legislation. I don’t know where you live or whom you vote for, but this is still, barely, a democracy. You and your like-minded friends can get it done. Get rid of the corrupt, corporate Dems, of which there are still many. Help elect more progressive women. That will change the country and the world.
