Thanks for the response, but I think you’re missing the point.

The purpose of teaching the history the way it is told in 1619 is to show clearly that the history of how Black people have been used and abused in the US for 400 years is rarely, if ever, taught to anyone.

If you think things have changed radically, then you missed seeing how the history of the Tulsa massacre was not only wiped from history, the current governor still doesn’t want to have it taught in schools. He says it makes America look bad. Really, it only makes bigoted whites men look bad.

If you think Jim Crow is gone then you not paying attention to the voting laws being passed in almost every state controlled by a Republican legislature. These laws are not about voter fraud, these laws are attempts to limit the voting rights of minority voters — of any Democrats really. The current Republicans seem to want to have elections run the way they are in Russia, where the winners are chosen before the votes are cast. I wonder where they got that idea?
