That may be true, but it also can be distracting. It may be better to stay away from reading about similar creations and then yours can be completely original.

I am just competing a sci-fi novel that involves creatures who have come from a different universe. They don’t even have the same laws of physics that we live with. I thought I was inventing my own.

But then, when I finished the part in which I gave a very details description of them, I began to get strange messages interrupting my playlist. Who was I to interpret their feeling about the blissful lives I described? Had I ever experienced the joys or difficulties of living in seven dimensions?

I explained that I felt justified because they had come to Earth to get help with their problems, and I felt that allowed me to describe my observations about them.

Nothing happens easily these days.
