That this is a surprise to you amazes me. Take a walk through almost any city park in the world. There are statues. Sometimes the statues are for scientists or artists. But the large majority are generals, warriors, and other slaughterers of people. “Great men” from Alexander the Great to all the memorials on the Mall in Washington are to soldiers. How many are unifiers and peacemakers; only one who wasn’t a president, MLK, and they assassinated him.

When you studied history in high school was it about how crops flourished, how cities were built by designers. Probably not. The way they taught me was from one war to the next, starting with Athens and Sparta, and not quite finishing WWII.

How many US Presidents weren’t assholes? Five, maybe six. None of this is a surprise. The world has been run by testosterone for centuries.
