The economy that Trump wants to open is the same one that he was reluctant to shut down. The economy of the rich getting richer and the poor getting sick and dying. Trump judges his success by the stock market numbers because the owners of the big companies, especially the drug companies and fossil fuel companies own Trump, McConnell and the whole Republican Party. If the stock market goes up Trump will have even more money to spread lies and convince the White, lower-middle-class that they don’t need healthcare or an education.

Trump heard from the folks on Fox News that most of the people who were dying were poor and Black (plus some doctors). To them, it probably meant that the virus was not much of a threat to their way of life. He did everything perfectly.
