There was a time when DeSantis thought he should model himself on Trump. But then Trump lost the election. Now, there is a good chance that Trump will be in court during the next campaign, and he may end up in jail. It may be tough for Trump to hold big rallies in a jail full of Black people. So, DeSantis is ready to step in.

But now, DeSantis has found a better model for his governing style: Xi Jinping

DeSantis has his own army to oversee that his policies are carried out. If three Black people cross the street together he can send out his riot police. He wants to put Black people into reeducation camps. He wants to put a camera into every school room to make sure that teachers stick to his curricula, and that pupils memorize the answers. Will there soon be big pictures of him in every classroom? I’m not sure how he feels about Uyghurs. Probably not good.
