Those who are able to participate in the 6000 years of philosophical development have usually been those who have the means to be able to think and reflect about how things are, and how things should be.

For most of the human inhabitants of the world, just staying alive — finding enough to eat, warding off enemies, avoiding diseases, and finding time to procreate, is a constant challenge. These tasks have become more complex recently, due to all of the social and technological developments of the 21 Century.

Many of these hard working people sense that something is wrong, something is out of balance, but it is difficult to know what it is, and even harder to determine what to do about it.

For the tired, hard-working and exploited, it is much easier to believe in a simple solution than to examine the complexities of our current reality. A powerful person comes along and tells us who is to blame for all our troubles. Those people do not look like us. So we believe what those powerful people are telling us. They must be good people; they have all the money.
