We now know very clearly, from Woodward and Costa’s book, how Trump instructed, bullied, taunted, and teased VP Pence before Pence went to the Capitol to do his ceremonial duty and ratify the election of Joe Biden. What Trump said and did amounts to using his presidential and political power in an attempt to get Pence to violate the Constitution. He was threatening him that if he didn’t break the law, and delay the final step of counting the electoral votes, he would ruin his political and social life — “I won’t be your friend any more.”

Isn’t this a crime similar to my hiring a hit-man to kill my neighbor? Even if the hit-man’s friend Dan persuades him that shooting someone like that is a bad idea, my trying to hire him would still be a crime.

My question is, why isn’t Trump in jail, awaiting trail?
