Welcome to Medium Jim. I am pleased to read a post of someone defending Trump without just rattling off angry Fox News or Breitbart distortions. Also, I agree it is not helpful to completely disparage 60 million people who will vote for Trump. Although, you will probably admit that the ones who are running around waving the flag while carrying assault weapons and demanding the “freedom” to not wear masks in crowded places in the middle of virus hot-spots are not helping the image of the Trump voter.
And even though you list some of Trump’s hidden accomplishments, they do not come close to making up for the destruction he has done to the country, to the role of the President, and to the health and safety of the country and the world.
He is a pathological liar. 80% of everything he said in his “good” debate was not close to being true. He always describes what is happening as if what he would like to have happening is real, even when it doesn’t exist. His style of name calling, self-pity, demonizing anyone who questions his choices, his impulsive responses and his anger make everyone nervous, as many of his decisions seem counter productive, and often cruel.
If you disagree with this then why have so many people who have tried to work for him have now come out and warned the country against him. This includes his former Chief of Staff, as well as several Generals and former members of his Cabinet. You mention that he destroyed ISIS, which is partly true. But most of the actual fighting was done by Kurdish fighters, with America supplies, strategy and air support. But the ones on the front lines were Kurds. But Trump was quick to leave them out in harms way when his friend in Turkey wanted to drive them away from his borders. But soldiers are losers anyway.
They way he betrayed the Kurds is not unique. He has betrayed almost everyone who has worked with him. His businesses were bailed out by his father, and he still went bankrupt. He has paid millions in fines for fraud and for discrimination. His charity was a fraud. He is taking bribes, and asking for them. He is billing the government at high rates to stay at his properties when he shouldn’t be going there at all. He doesn’t pay taxes. He has always been a fraud.
He puts kids in cages. He deports mothers in front of their children after they have worked here for twenty years. He gave most of the bailout money to his friends and donors, He has never designed, or even understood how legislation works. He just says stuff and then says something else the next day. Healthcare? Infrastructure? The prison reform you mentioned was designed by Eric Holder.
I am sure that I can do nothing to dissuade you, so I will stop listing the man’s short comings. I just want to give you some insight into why people are to upset and so afraid of him having another four years to act like a clown in front of the world, while he and his buddies erase all regulations that prevent them from running corrupt businesses and stealing from the government, while half of the population gets poorer, and millions get sick. The world looks on in horror.
