You are looking through the wrong end of the binoculars. I think most Republicans would rejoice if Trump collapsed on the fourth green. But the fight would be over who can be the Trumpiest. There is a good chance Trump will be spending most of his time and energy attempting to keep himself out of jail, which doesn’t make a run for President that easy, even for him.

But they are lining up to cast meat to his voters. Cruz, Hawley, Pence, McCarthy, are all hoping to pick up the crown of thorns and be anointed heir to the throne.

The Romney, Cheney, Ryan wing is about 9% of the party.
