You have a very rational and reasonable post here. However, American politics are rarely connected to those things. There are several things you need to realize. American elections, especially since 1989, but really always, are all about money. The rich need to control elections so that they stay rich. That gives them the money to prop up puppet candidates such as Herschel Waker.

The other things is that despite some progress, America really is a racist country. It is very difficult for a Black person to win a statewide office. In fact, it is easier if he is a Republican, because otherwise he will be considered a “dangerous other.”

If the Republicans had run a scarecrow instead of Walker the scarecrow would have done much better. It probably would not have paid for several abortions.
